Dandelions revisited

I went on a walk in the local fields today with my faithful hounds Gunner and Morgan and the landscape had changed the field of dandelions were now all clocks - Dandelion clocks that is!  From the most vibrant and bright yellow,  now I was left with soft gray spheres of seeds.
When I was a child I remember that the flying seeds of the dandelions were really fairies and they were flying off to help people?  This so made me smile today as my dogs trotting through them sent the tiny seeds with their gossamer wings floating off  on a warm wind to pastures new?
Happy memories.

Hawthorn blossom

Its the last day of April today and I took this picture of some Hawthorn blossom.   Its also called the May tree and as its the 1st May tomorrow it certainly looked ready to celebrate May Day.   The white of the flowers looked amazing in the lane I was walking down.  So beautiful!

Blakeney

Today we got up and drove to Blakeney and took the dogs for a walk along the marsh paths.  It was bright and sunny but with a cool breeze.  It was wonderful!
I particularly was intrigued by the boat skeleton.   The boat had lots of tales to tell, if only it could speak?

Then it was on to Holt to visit a friend.   She was delighted to see our two dogs "Gunner" and "Morgan",  we spent a nice time chatting in her bookshop and then purchased some wonderful books.

The bookshop is Holt Bookshop and its a real treasure trove!  The above was just a selection which we ended up buying.   The book "Drawing Nature" by  Agathe Ravet-Haevermans should help me get to grips with a ladybird which I have been putting into a art piece I am doing.  So hopefully it will make it on to my blog soon.   :)

All in all it has been a good day.

Mum's Garden

Last week I travelled up to see my Mum and sister, and took some lovely pictures of the flowers in their garden.    Especially loved the red tulips.   But my favourite photograph is of "Barney",  a wonderful West Highland White Terrier.  I think that he likes the flowers too!

I love the colour of the tulips and pansy and would love a dress in these startling colours.  Not sure where I would wear it to?

Gog Magog

This morning we went for a walk at Gog Magog,   The dogs loved it and lots more dandelions for me to admire.
The sun was shining and the dogs loved the freedom, sniffing everywhere. The wooded bit being a particularly great place to put there noses.  The sunlight on the new leaves was wonderful.

Afterwards we called at the Gog Magog Hills Farm Shop, where my son bought a delicious piece of lemon victoria sponge cake.    While waiting for him to purchase the said cake I came across these extremely interesting characters strutting there stuff in the outside area.  I so loved the colours of these birds.

Church Art

Found a fascinating piece of stained glass window in our local church. Truly wonderful a cockerel holding a  sword and a spade perched above a knight's helm.
Three small statues on a windowsill.

Walking

Today I went for a walk with my dogs.   The sun was shining and the dandelions looked amazing in the field at the start of the walk.   Last year about this time I was going to take a photograph of them and on entering the field on the chosen day I nearly cried as the local farmer had mown them all down.   So this year I was very keen to get a photograph of the wonderful sight. "Dandelions"  (what a wonderful word!)
